As
set out in the Wuskwatim Project Development Agreement, two advisory
committees have been set up – the Construction Advisory
Committee and the Monitoring Advisory Committee.
The committees provide NCN with additional opportunities to receive project information and to provide input regarding construction and monitoring activities. The committees also promote effective communication between NCN and Manitoba Hydro on project issues.
Construction Advisory Committee
The
Construction Advisory Committee reviews matters related to major
activities and events occurring during construction, such as:
- Engineering activities
- Number of contracts awarded and contracts
planned
- Status of master project schedule,
including milestones
- Total site labour numbers by category
- Current and foreseeable environmental
and regulatory issues
- Safety statistics
- Training activities
- Cultural events
- Other project issues identified by
elders, community leadership/members, project management/staff
and others.
Monitoring Advisory Committee
The Monitoring Advisory Committee reviews matters related to environmental, social and economic project impacts and monitoring activities planned for or occurring during construction, commissioning and operations.
